Bag Filter Housing for Data Center Cooling & Water Treatment

Filter housings are available in single-bag configurations accommodating standard bag sizes #1, #2, #3, and #4, as well as multi-bag vessels designed for standard #02 double-length bags holding from 2 to 24 filter bags to satisfy higher flow rate demands across mission-critical facilities.

Sizing depends on operating flow rate, fluid viscosity, allowable pressure drop, and expected particulate load. Single-bag units handle flow capacities up to 176 GPM, while multi-bag housings support up to 4,200 GPM. Distributing flow across multiple bags reduces pressure drop and increases dirt-holding capacity between changeouts.

A filter bag is a replaceable fabric element placed inside a perforated stainless steel support basket within the housing. Available in media materials such as polypropylene, polyester, nylon, and felt, it captures particulate matter internally while permitting clean water to flow through into the cooling loop.

Unfiltered liquid enters the housing inlet under pressure and flows into the interior of the filter bag. Suspended solids are captured within the bag while treated fluid passes outward through the media and perforated support basket, exiting the vessel discharge port without unfiltered liquid bypass.

Housings are manufactured in 304L and 316/316L stainless steel options with design pressures up to 150 psi (10 bar). Multi-bag models accommodate operating temperatures up to 300°F (149°C), while single-bag vessels support up to 250°F (120°C), with ASME Code-stamped construction available where required.

Single-bag housings offer FNPT, ANSI flanged, and sanitary ferrule connections with V-clamp, band clamp, or swing-bolt closures. Multi-bag housings provide ANSI flanged connections with clamp, swing-bolt, davit-assisted, or quick-opening cover options to simplify bag maintenance.
