Eaton 53BTX Duplex Strainer for Data Center Continuous-Flow Cooling

The Eaton 53BTX strainer housing is constructed from stainless steel, with options in 304 or 316/316L stainless steel. These alloys offer corrosion resistance suitable for closed-loop cooling, chilled water systems, cooling towers, condenser loops, and process water lines across critical environments.

The Eaton 53BTX is manufactured in pipe sizes ranging from 3/4 inch to 4 inches. Depending on the selected configuration and pipe size, connection options include threaded connections, ANSI Class 125/150 flanged connections, and DIN flanged connection configurations.

The Eaton 53BTX duplex strainer features a design pressure of 200 psi (13.8 bar), depending on the configuration. The operating temperature range is up to 150°F (65°C), with maximum operating temperature reaching up to 200°F depending on housing, basket, and seal selection.

Strainer baskets are available in perforated or woven mesh configurations constructed from stainless steel or optional specialty materials. Mesh choices range from 20 to 400 mesh, and perforation sizing extends from 1/32 inch to 1/2 inch to suit specific fluid particulate requirements.

Standard seal configurations for the Eaton 53BTX duplex strainer include TFE/Buna-N and TFE/Viton. Selecting the proper seal material ensures positive chamber isolation and compatibility with system operating temperatures and fluid chemistry within cooling and process water loops.

The strainer incorporates a simple manual flow diverter that switches fluid flow smoothly between chambers. This mechanism provides positive chamber isolation, enabling operators to access and service the offline basket safely without disrupting downstream cooling operations or causing fluid bypass.
