Polypropylene Water Filters for Data Center Cooling Applications

Our polypropylene filter cartridges and bags provide particle retention ratings ranging from 0.5 to 100 microns for high-flow cartridges, and 1 to 200 microns for felt bags. This range allows operators to select fine filtration for sensitive cooling components or coarse filtration to capture larger debris in cooling tower loops.

High-flow filter cartridges utilize an oversized pleated design with depth-oriented media, delivering high dirt-holding capacity and a large filtration area. This construction replaces multiple standard 10-inch filter elements, significantly reducing cartridge consumption, lowering maintenance downtime, and sustaining consistent water flow through data center chillers and cooling loops.

Polypropylene high-flow cartridges operate at temperatures up to 176°F (80°C) with a maximum operating differential pressure of 60 psi at 70°F (21°C). Polypropylene felt and mesh filter bags withstand operating pressures up to 100 psi, ensuring reliable performance in demanding closed-loop and condenser water cooling environments.

For high-flow filter cartridges, the recommended change-out differential pressure is 30 psi differential. Monitoring differential pressure across filter housings ensures elements are replaced before excessive pressure drop occurs, preventing reduced water flow and maintaining optimal thermal transfer efficiency across critical cooling equipment.

Felt filter bags provide depth filtration, trapping sediment and contaminants both on the surface and within the dense fiber structure for up to 99% particle removal efficiency. Mesh filter bags deliver precise surface filtration with defined particle retention, high mechanical strength, low pressure drops, and washable, reusable configurations.

Our filtration products are manufactured under an ISO 9001:2015-certified quality management system. Configurations comply with FDA 21 CFR requirements for polypropylene materials and EU 10/2011 regulations. In addition, select options meet NSF/ANSI/CAN 61 and 372 standards, with evaluation conducted per ISO 16889 and ISO 2942 performance guidelines.
