For home applications, residential-grade systems certified to relevant drinking water standards are typically recommended based on the specific incoming water quality.

A high-flow filter processes large fluid volumes through a compact footprint by using high-capacity pleated cartridges or bag media. High-flow filter cartridges can handle flow rates up to 800 L/min per element, while multi-bag housings support up to 4,200 GPM. This design minimizes the total number of required elements, decreases pressure drops, and reduces maintenance changeout intervals.

High-flow filter housings are available in 304L stainless steel, 316/L stainless steel, and non-metallic fiberglass construction. Stainless steel units offer bead-blasted or mill finishes and support vertical or horizontal orientations. They handle design pressures up to 150 psi depending on configuration, with various seal options including EPDM, FKM, NBR, and Silicone for chemical and temperature compatibility.

High-flow filter cartridges have a recommended change-out differential pressure of 30 psi differential. The cartridges feature a maximum operating differential pressure rating of 60 psi at 70°F and 35 psi at 176°F. Monitoring differential pressure across the vessel helps ensure optimal particle retention and prevents unnecessary mechanical strain across circulating cooling pumps.

Multi-bag filter housings divide incoming cooling fluid among 2 to 24 filter bags, reducing pressure drops and delivering flow capacities up to 4,200 GPM. Accessible through a single cover with swing-bolt or davit-assisted closures, these housings collect sediment, rust, and suspended solids from condenser and chilled water circuits to protect chiller efficiency.

Filter bags are offered in both felt and mesh media configurations. Felt filter bags provide depth filtration for particle sizes from 1 to 200 microns. Mesh filter bags offer surface filtration across 1 to 1500 microns with dirt-holding capacities from 1 to 15 lbs per bag, depending on bag size and operational contaminant load.
