High Flow Filter Housing for Data Center Cooling Systems

Housings are manufactured in 304L stainless steel, 316L stainless steel, and non-metallic fiberglass options. Material selection depends on water chemistry, operating temperature limits, and corrosion resistance requirements. Stainless steel housings are finished with bead-blasted or mill finish treatments, while fiberglass provides an alternative for specialized fluid compatibility in industrial and cooling water loops.

These housings accommodate between 1 and 16 filter cartridges in multiple lengths, specifically 20, 40, 60, and 80 inches. Each 20-inch length provides approximately 25 square feet of filtration area. Cartridges support flow rates up to 800 liters per minute per element under specific operating conditions, enabling high total throughput in compact installations.

Housings are engineered and fabricated in accordance with applicable pressure vessel compliance requirements. Available qualifications include ASME Section VIII, Division 1 designs, ASME U-stamped manufacturing with authorized material traceability and pressure testing, as well as CE/PED 2014/68/EU compliant vessels for international and industrial installation requirements.

The filter housings are rated for maximum operating temperatures up to 180°F (80°C). The maximum operating differential pressure is 60 psi (4 bar) evaluated at 70°F (21°C). Operators must ensure that pump pressures and process fluid temperatures remain within these design parameters during continuous chilled loop and process filtration service.

Vessels offer multiple elastomeric seal options including EPDM, FKM, NBR, and Silicone to match diverse fluid chemistries. For system integration, housings feature vertical or horizontal orientations with various inlet and outlet patterns, accommodating connection options up to 12-inch pipe sizes to match existing facility piping and header configurations.

High flow housings accommodate high flow rates with fewer internal filter elements compared to conventional multi-cartridge systems. This compact footprint saves valuable mechanical room floor space while reducing the number of seals to inspect. Parallel housing installations provide scalable capacity to protect chillers, cooling towers, and heat exchangers from particulate fouling.
