Standard valves often have lower pressure and temperature thresholds. In contrast, high-performance butterfly valves utilize durable stainless steel metallurgy and versatile seat materials including Buna-N, EPDM, PTFE, RPTFE, and Viton. This configuration allows reliable isolation, low pressure drop, and broad chemical compatibility in demanding mission-critical systems and utility water lines under demanding operating conditions.

Working pressure capability depends on the specific valve configuration, sizing, and seating materials selected. Our wafer-style butterfly valves are engineered to handle maximum working pressures up to 285 psi, offering dependable containment, tight shutoff performance, and verified dimensional accuracy across a wide variety of process cooling and industrial water applications.

Butterfly valves are commonly distinguished by seating design, body style, and offset geometry. Depending on service needs, configurations include resilient-seated designs, high-performance double-offset styles, and metal-seated triple-offset valves. Body styles also vary, featuring compact wafer designs that install between mating flanges, lugged bodies for dead-end service, or double-flanged bodies for large process piping.

The valve bodies and discs are manufactured from corrosion-resistant 304 or 316 stainless steel. Depending on system chemistry and operating temperature, seating options include resilient materials such as Buna-N, EPDM, PTFE, RPTFE, and Viton, along with metal-seated configurations designed for higher thermal thresholds up to 500°F.

These valves offer versatile flow control for on/off or throttling service. Operators can select manual handle levers or gear-operated handwheels for manual intervention. For automated piping networks and process management, units can be equipped with pneumatic actuators or electric actuation packages tailored to specific system automation requirements.

Wafer butterfly valves are available in standard sizes ranging from 1½ to 24 inches, with larger diameters available upon request depending on configuration. Flow capacity ratings range from Cv 20 to over 7,000, ensuring low pressure drop when fully open in utility lines and pump systems.
